19:00 – Meeting called to order, Det. Commandant David Foy.  Colors salute and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Marines Hymn led by Sgt-at-Arms.  Chaps provided the opening prayer and a blessing.  Acting Adjutant made staff roll-call and determined “All present” (minus the J/A) with 28 total members in attendance.

19:05 – New members were recognized and welcomed (3 in attendance): “Cali Dude with daughter” who served 1959-67, Ann Maggert / 2531 Radio operator who served in 1980’s, and Mike “?” who served 1960-66 aboard Camp Lejeune. 

19:09 – Prayer requests were solicited by Chaplain, including remembrance for deceased members & family, several currently battling illness, and members’ families now serving in Armed Forces.  Brian West (hospital), M. Marable (covid), Doug Hill and Chief Brock’s “Back the Brock” needs were discussed and included in prayer requests.  Recognition for current active duty family of members: Max Singleton, Chris Foy, and Sullivan Brooks.

19:14 – Paymaster then discussed finances, including an in-depth review of current bank balance & outstanding checks. Meeting progressed onto New Business.

New Business: 

USMC Birthday Balls went smooth, a good time was had by all…even Onion & Kung-Fu in alternate dimensions.

May need to seek another venue for monthly meetings if Akademia decides to start closing on Mondays, or move meeting to another night (Tuesday or Thursday perhaps).

Report of officers / Unfinished Business:  none to report.

19:29 – “Good of the League” discussion from Jim Woods regarding a challenge coin from Western Judicial / Veterans Legal Mentor Fund.  Coin was presented to the Detchment in recognition of previous charitable donations helping local Veterans in need of legal counsel.

19:31 –  Chappy made updated announcement regarding “Back the Brock” fundraising and charity efforts to renovate his bedroom / home to assist future assisted care;  then recited Roll Call of Deceased Marine & Sailors of MCL Det. 1083, then offered closing prayer and well wishes until our next meeting.

19:38 – Special recognition awarded to Akademia’s server and manager to express our appreciation for supporting our monthly meetings all year. Chaplain’s closing prayer.

19:42 – Meeting adjourned by Det. 1083 Commandant, and the colors retired.

19:43 –  Deadbeat / no-load members mocked and publicly hazed for not paying dues (reviewed the roster and made necessary corrections or revisions).
