19:00 – Meeting called to order, Det. Commandant Derrick Norton.  Colors salute and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Marines Hymn.  Chaplain provided the opening prayer and a blessing.  Acting Adjutant made staff roll-call and determined “All present” (minus the Sergeant at Arms and Adjutant) 27 members in attendance.

19:05 – Seats & Meeting open for business        

New members were recognized and welcomed (1 in attendance). Application will be filled out and submitted.

19:11 – Old Business

Minutes of Previous Meeting – Motion to table minutes for the month. Motion made by Chief Brock, seconded by Beep. Motion approved.

Paymasters Report – Finance report presented. Motion to accept made by Kilroy, seconded by Jim Wood. Motion approved.

Chaplains Report

• Col. Foy’s mother in hospice.

• Homeless outreach – 2nd Wednesday. Thanks extended to those serving.

• Fred stepped down (heart afib, has been attending breakfast).

• Beep reported on aneurysm and father’s condition.

Marine Corps Ball Committee Report

• Classic Center committed.

• Joey Jones confirmed as speaker on Thursday.

• Photographer and DJ needed.

• Coasters approved. Motion for deposit made by Beep, seconded by Jim Wood. Motion approved.

New Business: 

• Correspondence received – Wayne Blair welcomed as Associate Member.

• Beep read recognition of the anniversary of the induction of women into the Marine Corps

• Carol Griffin, District Vice Commandant – livestream “Lunch and Learn” announced.

• Dept. Chaplain reminder: If you need help with a claim, ask for assistance instead of paying someone. File DD214 with local courthouse so family can access when needed.

20:17 – Chaplain reads names of fallen & deceased members and leads Det in closing prayer.

20:18 – Meeting adjourned by Det. 1083 Commandant, and the colors retired.

20:19 – Sgt at Arms dismissed the Det.  Next meeting Tuesday 9 September 2025.
