Marine Corps League Det. 1083 Meeting Minutes:

14, July, 2026, at Brett’s Backyard, 1021 Jamestown Blvd, Watkinsville, GA 30677, Fellowship at 1800 hrs. Meeting start at 1900 hrs.

  • 19:00 – Call to Order, Post the Colors / Pledge, Marines Hymn, Meeting Opening & Staff Roll Call. Head count:32 in attendance. Sgt at Arms secures hatch; Adjutant roll call.
  • 19:02 – Opening prayer.

      3. Commandants Correspondence –
        • Dept of GA is requesting photos of Marines in uniform on active duty and photos of them now.
        • A nursing home is requesting 8 small care packages to be sent to for troops overseas.
        • No word from the Young Marine Coordinator from Warner Robbins about becoming a sponsor.

    3. 19:10 – The opportunity to help feed the homeless at 1st Baptist on Prince will be stopping until they need help again in December.Old Business19:13 – Chaplains Report by Kevin Hines:

      • Mike wards son is settling in Okinawa well
      • Christopher has been in Okinawa for 3 weeks
      • May is doing well in Colorado
      • JPs asks for prayers for his daughter who is getting married
      • Aldi asks for prays for his brother who is getting divorced

    6. Report of Standing Committees: 19:20 Marines Corps Ball dates were discussed and decided that it would be a short meeting on the 10th followed by a long fellowship to include families. La madrid made the motion for this and it was seconded by Jim wood and approved.

    • 19:28 – Members were asked to confirm phone numbers and emails with Beep.
    • 19:28 – Nate ill attempt to reach out to the Young Marines coordinator again.
    • 19:29 – La Madrid reports a great turn out for the 4th of July parade.
    • 19:30 – Matthew John is available to assist with the VA
    • 19:30 – Jake Brought a guest Tripp who is considering taking a trip to Parris Island for 3 months and wanted him to experience the esprit de corps of the USMC
    • 19:31 – The fellowship is still ongoing on the Plantation Buffet on Fridays at 11:00
    • 19:32 – Cover sizes are needed for the order for league members
    • 19:33 – Membership dues are due August 1st and are $30 for recurring members and $35 for new members
    • 19:34 The Marine Corps Museum has a new wing open for the war on Terrorism
